Dealing With Pinworms? How To Get Rid Of The Problem

If you have kids, chances are good that they'll get pinworms. If they do, there's also a good chance that you'll get pinworms too. Pinworms are parasitic worms that live in the intestines. They're very contagious. Kids can get pinworms at school, and at playgrounds. In fact, kids can get pinworms anywhere there are other kids. If you think your kids have pinworms, look for the signs. Some signs to watch for include an itchy anus, restlessness, and scratch marks on the bottom. If you suspect your kids have pinworms, read the list provided below. Here are three tips to help you treat their pinworm infection.

Locate the Pinworms

If you think your kids have pinworms, the first thing you need to do is locate the worms. Pinworms tend to come out of hiding at night, while their hosts are sleeping. There are several ways you can find pinworms. First, you can use a flashlight to check your kid's anus while they're sleeping. Second, you can place a piece of tape over your child's anus before they go to bed.

The pinworms will attach themselves to the tape. Or, you can check your child's bowel movements for pinworms. Pinworms look like thin, white threads. If you find pinworms, you need to act fast. Pinworms can get passed throughout the house.

Start a Treatment

If your kids have pinworms, you need to start a treatment plan as soon as possible. Luckily, there are natural methods to get rid of pinworms. One of those methods is allicin oil. Allicin oil is an active ingredient found in garlic.

You can take allicin oil as a daily supplement. And, you can add garlic to your daily diet. Be sure to treat the entire family though. That way, you don't end up with another round of pinworms going through the house. To keep pinworms away, it's a good idea to continue taking allicin oil as a daily supplement. This will keep the worms away.

Wash Bedding

Now that you're treating your family for pinworms, it's a good idea to go one step further. Pinworms can lay their eggs anywhere, including your bedding. Because of that, you'll need to wash your bedding in hot water.

Be sure to add bleach to the laundry. That way, you kill the worms and their eggs. For added protection, wash your bedding in hot water at least once a week until you've completed a treatment cycle.

About Me

Let's Get Back to Nature Years ago, our ancestors did not have pharmacies. They did, however, know a lot about health and how to heal naturally. It is a shame that some of that knowledge seems to get passed over these days. There are a lot of people who would prefer to still take a more natural approach to their health, but the resources to enable them to do so are not always widely available. We want to change that. We know that our blog is just one source of information, but we want it to be a good, reliable, and comprehensive resource for anyone wishing to learn more about natural health care.
